Come on out every 4th Sunday to Asheville’s only traditional New England social dance musicians jam! Join us to have some fun playing traditional fiddle tunes “close to the floor” at this gathering devoted to the art of playing for social dance. We’ll explore the traditional dance music of New England through a diversity of dance forms, including set dances – triplets, contra, square, circle, English country, and play party – and partner dances such as waltz, hambo, schottis and polka. Listeners and dancers welcome! Laura Lengnick and Nic Coker host, with special invited guests sharing dance playing tips and favorite tunes from time to time.
